Yesterday was a pretty good day as far as the lemonade was concerned. I chugged down my litre of water without any problem, and realised that it’s not so bad, when you get used to it.
Then lemonade all day, with a mint tea at lunch time to break the monotony. I’ve decided that the real problem here is that you start to drink less water and more lemonade. You start to forget the water part – since it’s really quite boring.
And I also discovered that your tastebuds do get more sensitive. I tried to cheat and have tap water (boiled, of course), instead of popping down to the supermarket to buy some bottled water. And for the first time that I can ever remember (in Panama), I could taste the clorine in the water. Just about freaked. I don’t ever remember that taste of clorine, and I drink tap water all the time here.
So, the lemonade definitely starts to clean things up, including your sense of taste and smell.
I had read on someone else’s diary about the diet that the sense of smell starts getting more sensitive as each day goes by. And I started to notice it yesterday. Wow. But all good.
Hi, How did the lemonade diet go? I’m gonna start on sat, any advice? Did you lose weight and did it stay off?
Yes… I stopped the diet because I was losing “too much” weight – my reason for doing the diet was for cleansing, rather than weight loss, and I’d lost about 7 pounds and decided to call it quits.
My neice did the diet just last year, and she lost about 20 pounds, and is happy as can be. So far, she hasn’t put the weight back on, either.
The real question is: once you’ve finished the diet, are you willing to change your life style?
I now do a cleansing “fast” – i.e. ONLY fruits (all sorts: juiced, pieces, etc.) and salad or cooked vegies – each year. Usually for about 15 days, although at the beginning of this year I did 40 days, because I included cooked rice and boiled potatoes. But NOTHING with preservatives, food colouring, sugar, meats, milk, cheeses, etc.
I no longer eat the same as I used to – I try to drink my 2 litres of water each day, I now include salad or vegetables as a substantial part of my meals (like a nutritionist or your grandmother would tell you to!), I have small portions of meat (what we would now consider to be a 1/2 or 1/3 of the usual size portion), I eat carbohydrates 5 times a day (small portions) so that I always have energy but no carbs after 6.30 p.m., and so on.
The diet is perfect for losing weight quickly and cleansing your entire system.
But keeping the weight off and being fit and healthy, requires dedication to the new lifestyle of the new you…
